Accommodation
We understand that moving away from home to study can be a daunting experience. We are delighted to offer a number of accommodation options to help you find somewhere to live where you will feel comfortable and happy.
Student Accommodation
Our on-campus student accommodation provides safe, secure, and comfortable housing for 78 students in shared self-catered flats and cottages which are fully furnished. Students who choose to stay in our accommodation are treated as adults and should be ready for independent living. This means our students keep their rooms clean, do their own laundry, cook for themselves, and contribute to keeping communal areas tidy. Our trained accommodation team are based on-campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide assistance and support to students.
We offer a let period of 9 months which follows the academic year from September to June. You must agree to let a room for the full academic year, and you are welcome to stay during October, December, and April recess breaks. Find out more about applying for student accommodation.
Hostelling Scotland
Hostelling Scotland offer accommodation on-campus over the summer months June to August, utilising our student accommodation buildings. A laundry and free car park are also located on site. Contact Hostelling Scotland’s Reservations Team to enquire about summer accommodation by dialling 0345 293 7373 or visit the website https://www.hostellingscotland.org.uk/hostels/perth/to find out more.
Private Accommodation
There is a healthy supply of rental properties in and around Perth which can be found by searching the internet for rooms or flats available for rent. Unfortunately, as we aren’t in control of these properties, we can’t offer any recommendations for particular properties or agents. For help starting your search, see our blog post.
Homestay scheme
Our Homestay scheme offers international students the opportunity to enjoy the enriching and rewarding experience of living with a local homestay provider. Each year, we welcome students from all over the world. From as far afield as China, the USA, India, Nepal, Pakistan, or South Africa, as well as from our European neighbours in Poland, Czech Republic, Spain, Germany, and France.
As part of their experience here in Scotland, students enjoy staying with a local homestay provider and gain a true insight into the local culture and our way of living. Many of our students have remained in contact with their homestay provider long after returning to their home country. Homestay accommodation is available on a room-only or half-board (bed, breakfast, and evening meal) basis. If you would like further information, you can read about the Homestay scheme or contact homestay.perth@uhi.ac.uk
